CHAMBERS PROMOTING INTELLIGENT ENERGY FOR SMEs
This project – co-financed by the European Union in the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe programme – will run from September 2008 through August 2010. The CHANGE project helps SMEs optimise their energy use by creating “Intelligent energy advisors” in 61 Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCIs) from 12 European countries.
CCI advisors will:
- attend a training on energy efficiency and renewable energy.
- act as “first ports of call” for SMEs on energy matters.
- promote intelligent energy within the business community via websites, newsletters and information events.
- facilitate energy pre-checks and carry out a survey.
OBJECTIVES AND MAIN STEPS
- To build capacity and create a European network of CCI advisors on intelligent energy topics: - To kickstart/enhance assistance to SMEs to optimize their energy use
- access to information: websites, articles, workshops/seminars targeted to businesses
- energy pre-checks: brief diagnosis carried out or facilitated by CCIs to measure businesses potential for energy savings.
- survey: to find out more about enablers and barriers for the uptake of energy efficiency/renewable energy solutions in businesses
